The world’s leading printing machinery manufacturer| K?nig & Bauer (KBA)| has launched the comprehensive AI Empower 25 program with the aim of integrating AI technologies into its operations and training employees to become experts in this field. The program is being implemented in partnership with Google.
According to the Iranian Printing and Packaging News Agency| the company is providing its employees with advanced Google AI tools| including:
- Gemini App and Gemini Advanced for Workspace to improve productivity
- NotebookLM Plus for knowledge management based on internal company documents
- Google Vids for producing AI-based videos
The main focus of the program is on empowering employees through targeted training| not just deploying technology.
“With the AI ??Empower 25 program| we are once again demonstrating our pioneering spirit|” said Dr. Stefan Kimmisch| CEO of K?nig & Bauer. “We believe that successful integration of AI not only increases efficiency and productivity| but also sustainably strengthens the company’s innovative power.”
The program uses a decentralized training method| in which managers and a select number of employees (AI Champions) from around the world receive intensive training and then act as mentors to pass on the knowledge to their colleagues.
Although the specialized training is initially intended only for AI Champions| all employees will have immediate access to AI tools so they can gain practical experience. K?nig & Bauer also plans to present an AI Award in December 2025** to recognize the creative use of new tools and the development of work improvements. The company will expand training programs to instill the acceptance and use of AI throughout the organization.
This program complements the Kyana unit| which will operate as an independent division of Koenig & Bauer’s Digital Business Unit from April 1| 2025. The unit focuses on developing AI and data-driven applications for customers in the printing and packaging industry and offers products such as Kyana Assist and Kyana Data (for production analytics).
This move is another step towards digital transformation and strengthening Koenig & Bauer’s position as a leader in the printing industry.
